STATISTICS

All of the statistics below could be improved if Black women had access to personal development tools like our other counterparts. How can we pour from a cup when it is empty, to begin with?  For all this to change, it starts with self-care spaces created and dedicated exclusively for the black woman.

Black women in non-secure work often have little control over the hours they work and how often, creating huge financial uncertainty, anxiety, and stress. The unpredictability of their take-home pay makes it increasingly difficult to plan financially, access credit, secure mortgages & business loans or tenancy agreements. Constantly varying working hours also has an impact on family life, making it difficult to organise childcare, the care of older relatives and a social life.

Analysis of social deprivation, education, employment prospects and other factors all play a part in the fabric of violence.
